I have lived in Tyne and Wear since 2009 and my children attend local schools. I know the pressures facing families in our region, and I also understand the specific challenges within our Local Authorities.
The North East currently has the highest rate of EHCP applications in the country, which puts significant pressure on systems already under strain. As a result, some assessments can feel rushed or incomplete, and the quality of plans may vary.
I work to support parents in holding Local Authorities accountable — not in a confrontational way, but by helping to ensure they fulfil their duties under the law.

This is always done without sharing any identifiable information about your child and is included to help strengthen your case or expand my own knowledge base to better support you.
